Looking to up your woodworking game? Join us for this wooden box making class. Make a beautiful wooden box with a laminated leather base, beautifully patterned wooden lid and mitred corners reinforced with inset wooden splines.
Not only will you go home with a beautiful jewellery or keepsake box, you will also leave with a bunch of great new skills and the knowledge and confidence to undertake your own woodworking projects. You will learn to: draw your box design to scale, cut and laminate wood and leather, mark timber and dress it to size, use a router to cut the groove for a floating top and base, cut mitres on the panel saw, cut splines, fit and glue splines, add a lid locating lip.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
This class is taught by Adrian Spano who has graduated from Sturt Wood School with a certificate IV in Fine Furniture Making & Design. He currently works on private commissions and has his studio at MakerSpace. By working alongside creatives in other fields, Adrian hopes to open up opportunities in the future and develop his skills as a maker. 500workshop.com.au
