Join us for a chilled evening whittling session on the third Thursday of every month. Open to beginners and seasoned pros, we’ll teach you how to carve spoons that you can work on in your own time. While we have a couple of axes and (for the non-purists) scroll saws, jig saws, drills and other basic power tools, most of the work will be done with a carving knife and a Spoon carving hook. We have a bit of wood, but you are welcome to BYO. Green wood (freshly cut) is much easier to work with, but you can make a spoon out of almost anything!
You will need to bring your own small Carving Knife and Spoon Carving Hook – order online and be sure to leave at least 2 weeks for them to arrive. We recommend these or these or these (we don’t endorse any vendors, the links are just to help you understand what to buy – you’ll want to search for a good deal!). Alternatively some of our Spoon Club members have bought from here and here and here.
