Looking to take your throwing skills to the next level? If you can confidently centre half a kilogram pieces of clay this course is an ideal place to push your self with the aim of drastically improving your throwing abilities.
This class is limited to 6 participants to ensure plenty of high quality feedback from Xavier. Every session you will throw, throw and throw some more, the focus will be on building skill rather than producing objects. If you want to throw larger objects, learn to throw sets of similar objects or increase the complexity of the shapes you can make on the wheel then throw yourself into this class!

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Xavier Modoux is a Swiss-trained ceramicist with eight years of formal training, covering all aspect of ceramic production. Commencing his studies at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Geneva and then the Haute Ecole des Arts Appliquées, Xavier went on to become the inaugural studio director and technical advisor for the Ateliers Céramique in Carouge. During this time, he worked with renowned international artists and the triennial festival, Parcours Céramique.
Xavier has exhibited in Europe, Asia and Australia since 1998 and immigrated to Australia in 2002.

Cancellations: We rarely cancel classes, but occasional things come up beyond our control. Our classes are very small to ensure you have a great learning experience, but we need a minimum of 4 students to run most of our classes. If a class is cancelled, we will get in touch by phone or email, and discuss your options which include refund, credit or transfer to another date.
Kids in classes: MakerSpace classes are designed for adults. Kids aged 14-17 can book this class on the condition that an accompanying adult also participates – which means booking two places. If you have questions about kids in the workshop, please read this.
